Hollywood, California—Award winning photographer Brian Belefant became obsessed with the idea that iconic liquids could be the magic filter for capturing the soul of particular locations. And so he designed a camera filtration system that first allowed him to photograph nuns in Oaxaca, Mexico, through a veil of Coca-Cola. He followed up by shooting Portugal through 20 year old tawny Port, Turkey through Turkish coffee, and Montreal through maple syrup. Plus penned "piggies" in Ecuador through citrus marinade. For this series Belefant was named photographer of the year by the International Color Awards. For more info: www.belefant.com.
